Italy Won the 2006 World Cup in Germany!

Viva Italia! Long live the Italians as they triumph in the World Cup final after tying the regular match and enduring a grueling 30 minute overtime.  The final match was then decided by a 5 round penalty kick, which the Italians won because one French player missed.  The victory was also brought on by Zidane’s urge to headbutt an Italian player prompting the referee to give him a Red Card; thus removing him from the game.  I was elated to see the Italians avenge Brazil’s loss by beating the French and somehow provoking their star player to act stupid in the final moments of his career.  Although the Italians also knocked the Germans out of the World Cup, I still dislike the Italian team relatively less than the French.  In any case, I look forward to seeing a revitalised Brazilian dream team make a triumphant return in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Zidane headbutted the Italian.  Afterwards, it was the beginning of the end for the French team.
